Mt. Kintoki is the highest peak on the outer rim of Mt. Hakone (1,213m above sea level).
It was created by a major eruption 400,000 years ago. On a clear day, the summit offers a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji
Mt. Kintoki has three hiking courses great for beginners.
The most recommended route goes up from the entrance of the Kintoki Shrine, and back down to the Mt. Kintoki trailhead.

・Route: Kintoki Jinja-iriguchi (Bus stop) → Kintoki Shrine → Kintki-Yadori-ishi stone→ summit → Kintoki Jinja bunki (branch) → Yagurasawa-toge → Kintoki-tozanguchi (Bus stop)
Mt. Kintoki is famous from the legend of Kintaro.
It is said that Kintaro lived with his mother in the Kintoki-yadori-ishi stone, which has enough space under it to enter.
The view of Mt. Fuji is another important point.
There is a teahouse at the top of the mountain, where you can take a break and enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji.
* You may swap out ascent or descent routes.
* You will need clothing and bags that are easy to walk in.
* You will need light crampons in the winter due to potential snow and ice buildup.
* The washrooms at the summit are tip-based.
