Main Building

The 10 main buildings have long been cherished by prominent figures as a building that represents Japanese ryokans (inns) as well as buildings which show off the skills of many famous architects and designers. The guest rooms’ names originate from the traditional Japanese performances of “Noh.” Each guest room has a unique look, which shows in the details of each room’s alcove posts, the horizontal pieces of timber used in the building’s framework, girders, fanlights and other parts.

New Building

The New Building features traditional Japanese sukiya architecture, designed by the renowned architect Togo Murano, a recipient of the Order of Culture. Each room is arranged around a small private garden, offering a personal and serene space. These rooms are masterpieces, crafted with exquisite skill by young artisans. The room names are inspired by The Tale of Genji, a classic work of Japanese literature.
