The Black Ship Festival began in 1934 to commemorate this historic event and to promote international friendship.

[Mid-October to early November]
During the fall season, the vast 125-hectares Hosono Plateau transforms into a spectacular carpet of pampas grass. Looking down from the summit, you’ll see massive pampas grass fields with the vast ocean in the background.
Tsumekizaki, in addition to its Tawara Iso formations, is also a natural habitat for wild daffodils. When the flowering season arrives, approximately 3 million wild daffodils cover the area, filling the air with their sweet fragrance.
