In order to protect our precious earth, we are committed to taking sustainable actions, starting with what we can do in our immediate surroundings.
◆Introduction of bamboo toothbrushes
◆Use of biomass laundry bags
◆Switch to LED light bulbs
◆Elimination of some amenities (shower caps and combs)
◆Promotion of label-free, recycled plastic bottles for private brand product “Minami-Uonuma Spring Water”
◆Reduction of food loss
・Turning of Kumamoto-grown tomatoes and strawberries that don’t meet specifications into sauce and jam and using it
◆Sustainable solutions
・Sale of locally grown, locally consumed menu featuring Tokyo beef and vegetables sourced from Tokyo farms
・Use of plant-based ingredients
・Use of closed-loop livestock production
◆Reduction of plastics
・Switch from plastic to bamboo cutlery
・Switch to paper straws, takeout containers and cake trays
◆Fairtrade
・Use of fair trade ingredients. All chocolates are fair trade products.
◆Protection of cultural Properties
The Taitoku-in Mausoleum “Somon” Gate on the hotel grounds is designated as an important cultural property, conveying the splendid vestige of the times to the present day.
◆Park management
We manage the trees, lawns and other areas of the park based on a management plan we developed. We maintain a green landscape by thinning and planting trees according to how well they are growing.
◆Utilization of diverse human resources and improvement of ES
We are broadening the type of human resources we hire to include people with disabilities, foreign nationals, part-time workers, and so on. We are also working to improve ES by enhancing benefit packages by drawing on group merits and recognizing the achievements of individuals.
